I moved to Texas thinking I was starting one chapter of my life. I had no idea how many times I’d have to start over.
The last few years have looked nothing like I expected. There were endings I didn’t plan for, seasons where I was balancing motherhood, school and work, and moments when I genuinely had no idea what was coming next.
But somewhere in the middle of all of it, I kept building.
I finished my degree. I became a mom of two. I started over professionally. I walked into an industry I never pictured myself in and four months later, stepped into a Project Controls Manager role.
There’s still a lot I’m figuring out, and I don’t think the point of any of this is that I suddenly have everything together.
I think the point is that sometimes the life you were trying so hard to build isn’t actually the life you were meant to stay in.
I came to Texas thinking I was building a life with someone else. Turns out, I was building my own.
