We’re halfway through Hampshire Open Studios 2026 – and what an amazing few days it’s been. Artists have been opening their studios, galleries and creative spaces, welcoming visitors, sharing their work, demonstrating their skills and answering your questions.

*Viral Claim:*
A photo is being shared claiming that Delhi Police committed brutality against a female NSUI member during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, with captions like “inhumane behaviour, voice being suppressed by lathis and repression.”

*Fact Check - What The Full Video Shows:*

The viral photo is a cropped still from a longer video shot inside a Delhi Police detention bus during the CJP / Jantar Mantar protest.

The full unedited video, which is available, shows a completely different sequence:

1. The female protester is seen smiling and posing for the camera while inside the police bus. No physical force is being applied to her at that moment.

2. Moments later, the same protester is seen aggressively misbehaving with police personnel. She is seen pulling and pushing a woman police constable who is wearing a pink ‘Delhi Police Women Helpline’ vest.

3. She is also seen grabbing and pulling the uniform of male police officers inside the bus and attempting to pull badges.

4. Throughout the incident, Delhi Police personnel are seen maintaining restraint and trying to control the situation without using force. The woman constable is seen trying to de-escalate.

Senior journalists including Priya Sinha have contrasted this with a similar incident in Germany, where a male officer tackled a female protester to the ground, to highlight the restraint shown by Delhi Police in this case.

*Conclusion:* The claim of police brutality and inhumane behaviour is *misleading*. The cropped photo hides the context where the protester herself was manhandling police personnel. There is no evidence of lathi-charge or brutality against her in the full video.
