Going through old boxes and I came across these.

Divisional honour choir was the highlight of my year because it allowed me to just sing for a couple days and be accepted for who I was. I never had a lot of friends and was always a bit awkward and dressed much older than I was, but that was because the cool kid clothing stores never fit my plus size 13-year-old body. Finding community through music truly saved my life.

Singing was all I ever wanted to do and that hasn’t changed in the past few decades. If Little Lisa could just see me now! I hope I’m making her proud.
