Indeed asked who was your favorite boss. I have two Karen Locklar Garner and Anne Phillips. They are wonderful and lead with love. You don’t have to be cruel to lead and they are the true meaning of LEADERSHIP. Best principal’s ever !!!

One week without you… 😭💔 My friend told me a term the other day that hit me like a ton of bricks: “North Star loss”. It’s the devastation of losing someone who was like a North Star to you. The person you followed. The person who led you through life. The person you leaned on in tough times. When Chad passed, I sat with him for hours. I couldn’t move. I felt frozen… I couldn’t call anyone or figure out where to go. When it finally came time to leave the room and walk away, I felt so extremely lost; like, where do I go? What do I do now? I didn’t realize just how much I relied on him emotionally. He was older and wiser than me. He had more life experience. He shielded me from so many things or people I didn’t wanna deal with. He built me up when I was insecure. He handled all the logistics, all I had to do was take care of him and Lily. He planned all our vacations and trips. He kept track of what needed to be done, even when he was sick. I grew so much just from watching him lead, but not nearly enough to just take over his role when he left. He brought me back down to earth and reminded me not to worry about pointless things. He encouraged me to stand up for myself 😭 It is the most paralyzing feeling to lose someone like that. I’m leaning so hard on so many people just to feel half as steady as I did with Chad. I feel so lucky to have ever been the center of his world. Life is so glaringly different without him. He was not a normal person. His strength and steadiness were super human. He’s left such a gaping hole in my life, a measurable mark of how incredible he was. All I can do now is memorize his impact and try to reach that level of openness and generosity one day. But for now, one week in, all I can do is sit here in a puddle and miss you terribly 😭💔
