Happy Heavenly Birthday to my Papa Bear!

Earlier this year , I found a notebook that he had given me that contained letters between him and my grandmother , that completely changed the course of my life...

I am grateful for your protection in every way.

You taught me how to pray, walk, talk, ride my bike and move through rooms like a lady and yet never miss the opportunity to take my shoes off, let down my hair and touch grass, mud and rock with a nice elixir of spirit choice.

From pageants to the catwalk, it was always you... No one understood the role you played in the background, but I will never forget. My photographer....ugh...

In hindsight, Its nothing like having a grandfather who always makes sure you have shorts on under your clothes going out the door...and a taser... But could also pick somebody up by the collar and throw them feet away... like , i'm gonna whoop your a** , but i'm gonna do it with style, because I just don't want to crush you boy... protector of women, queers and children.

I hear you shouting in a militant voice to cheer me up, " GIRL YOU KNOW WHO LOVES YOU! YOUR PAPA LOVES YOU..... " as you aged that turned into a sweet gentle... " who loves you....?" and I would reply " My Papa loves me..."
