Así se vive la experiencia del mejor café de especialidad en eventos. Estuvimos en el Family Day del Colegio Menor Samborondón y la pasamos increible. Gracias a todos quienes disfrutan una buena bebida de café.

The UK Government has just accepted all 27 recommendations in a national review of antisemitism in schools and colleges. I support the protection of Jewish children, of ALL children which is why only days earlier on 14 October, the Department for Education confirmed it doesn’t centrally collect data on racist incidents against pupils and staff I was and am aghast at the disproportionality of protection. How can the Government tackle racism effectively when it doesn’t even collect the national data to measure it? Where is the education about colonisation, the British Empire, and the ongoing exploitation and oppression of people across the world? Where is the response to anti-immigrant rhetoric that is dehumanising entire communities? Why is protection unequally implemented for all children experiencing racism?

If we can build a national action plan for antisemitism, we can build one for racism. Every child deserves that.

Where is the protection for critical thinking, open discussion, free speech and nuance? Criticising the Israeli government is not a criticism of Jewish people. Supporting Palestinian liberation is not antisemitic. And teaching children to recognise racism must never mean teaching them not to question authority.

We can target antisemitism without shutting down healthy debate. We can protect Jewish children while protecting Palestinian children too. We can hold two truths at once.

Education should teach children how to think, not what to think.
