But you've got it wrong too... the States is a Republic,that is its system of governance... it also has elected representatives.. so representative democracy... its as if yanks forgot how to use English correctly...

Anna a Republic is a form of government where a person or a small group of people who are in some way chosen by the people rule (such as the President and Vice President) . A Representative Democracy is one where a a group of people are elected by the people to legislate the laws. A Liberal Democracy is a democracy where each person has a vote of the value as every one else. As far as I can figure it the USA has been struggling to be all three, pretty much since 1776. And still you struggle. I live in a Liberal Representative Democracy that is much, younger than yours but much better at the one vote one value shtick. We however are not a Republic! We are a Constitutional Monachy (yes I know you had some bad experiences with George III, but in fact he never really ruled, for most of his time on,the throne he had trouble even reining. Your peoples problem was really with the British government, It's had to pull it's head in since then. Ever since the successors to the house of Hanover, the house of Sachs Coburg Ghota (forgive me I'm dyslexic and my spell checker isn't very good at the royal houses of Europe) changed its name to Windsor in the early part of the WWI they have been consecrating on reining and have left ruling to Parliament (Congress to y'all) if you want to Elect a Head of state, do just that. Someone to open bridges and hospitals, great visiting dignitaries and stand up and open Congress when that is appropriate. Some much beloved person (preferably not an ex politician, they might get ideas) If I were a citizen I'd nominate Martin Sheen for the first non-ruling head of state for your new country. (yes I'm afraid y'all are going to have to start again. Trump has broken the constitution and no amount of gaffer tape, nor all the kings horses and all the kings men will be able to put it together again. Concentrate on electing a House and Senate that are truly Representative of ALL the people that means nomore first past the post voting. I have a lot more I'd like to say but this is already to long.
