This Halloween we go dressed up as ”terrorists”.

Earlier today in London, hundreds of people were arrested sitting peacefully outside the US embassy to protest against the genocide in Gaza and the proscription of Palestine Action. This brings the total number of arrests under the Terrorism Act in the UK for defying the ban on Palestine Action to over 4,000. They were released with the bail conditions of ”not attending any planned or unplanned protests in support of Palestine”.

This is a significant escalation in authoritarian repression towards the Palestine solidarity and anti-genocide movement.

Happy halloween and free Palestine!

Greetings from the Old Rectory, where we’ve been celebrating Halloween, with pumpkins, sparklers, and toasted marshmallows beside a bonfire in the garden. If these were the delightful treats, then a couple of unexpected tricks manifested in the form of minor domestic mishaps (my son got locked in a bathroom, when the door handle broke, and a temporary problem with the water supply caused some consternation).
Fortunately, peace has now settled over the house, and I’m about to head up to bed. Here’s hoping all is well with you and yours - and I’m sending warm wishes, as always, and waving from the Waveney Valley…
