Laos welcomed more than 23,100 Japanese tourists in the first half of 2026, up 36% year on year.
The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism linked the growth to tourism campaigns, embassy outreach, and Princess Aiko’s visit in late 2025.
Laos has also signed a new agreement with a Japanese company to expand tourism marketing and attract more Japanese visitors.
