Thank you for joining us for a book talk and community gathering celebrating Susan Lieu’s self-published Vietnamese-language edition of “The Manicurist’s Daughter”! 📚
Last month, we were honored to welcome
@susanlieu to Little Saigon Creative for an intimate conversation moderated by Quynh Pham, former Executive Director of Friends of Little Sài Gòn.
Together, attendees reflected on the complexities of language, family, and intergenerational healing within the Vietnamese diaspora - including the challenges of expressing emotions and connecting with elders in Vietnamese. Following the conversation, attendees broke into pairs to practice putting those feelings into words and building confidence for conversations with their own families.
Thank you to Susan, Quynh, and everyone who joined us for an evening filled with reflection, laughter, vulnerability, and connection. 💛
