UPDATE: The event on 10/17 has been cancelled unfortunately. We hope to host more events in the future, so stay tuned. Let’s not wait until Lunar New Year or AANHPI Heritage Month to celebrate our cultures. Aiyana and I crossed paths last year, both passionate about our journeys healing from intergenerational trauma, gaining a deeper connection to our Asian heritage, and finding our authentic voices through it all. We hope that we can bring in our warmth, thoughtfulness, and support into this space, as we know how challenging and isolating it can be to navigate the complexities of being Asian American. We also hope that we can inspire new ways of honoring our beautifully multicultural and multidimensional human selves. Come experience this workshop for yourselves with @asians.in.bloom and @tigerblossomstudio at @littlesaigoncreative on Oct 17! UPDATE: The event on 10/17 has been cancelled unfortunately. We hope to host more events in the future, so stay tuned. Aiyana of @tigerblossomstudio will guide us in unlocking the healing power of flowers while I will guide us in celebrating the greatest gifts we have gained from our Asian heritage. No prior experience in Ikebana is required. We’re so excited to be running this workshop a second time because it was such a meaningful experience for both us and the attendees. I mean, Aiyana is even flying from CA just to do this again ❤️ So if you’re looking for a cozy fall activity in Seattle to help you connect more deeply to nature, your creative side, and Asian heritage in a like-minded community, then come join the fun and get your ticket asap before the limited spots get filled up! Link is also in my bio. There are 2 ticket options, so you have a choice of bringing the floral arrangement home or not. by @littlesaigoncreative
Thank you for joining us for a book talk and community gathering celebrating Susan Lieu’s self-published Vietnamese-language edition of “The Manicurist’s Daughter”! 📚 Last month, we were honored to welcome @susanlieu to Little Saigon Creative for an intimate conversation moderated by Quynh Pham, former Executive Director of Friends of Little Sài Gòn. Together, attendees reflected on the complexities of language, family, and intergenerational healing within the Vietnamese diaspora - including the challenges of expressing emotions and connecting with elders in Vietnamese. Following the conversation, attendees broke into pairs to practice putting those feelings into words and building confidence for conversations with their own families. Thank you to Susan, Quynh, and everyone who joined us for an evening filled with reflection, laughter, vulnerability, and connection. 💛 #LittleSaigonCreative #SeattleEvents #SeattleLiteraryScene #SupportLocalAuthors — The Little Saigon Creative is a community gathering space dedicated to Vietnamese culture and experiences, providing community-centered services and a place to socialize and dream of new ideas.
