Krün, in Bavaria’s Upper Isar Valley, feels like a quiet meeting place between meadow and mountain. Green fields stretch beneath the open summer sky, scattered with yellow wildflowers, while dark forests climb towards the Karwendel and Wetterstein ranges. Beyond them, rugged peaks rise beneath great drifting clouds, sometimes clear and distant, sometimes softened by the changing light. The road winds gently through this peaceful landscape, with little more than fields, trees and the occasional farmhouse breaking the view.
