KPOP HALLOWEEN PLAYLIST ESSENTIALS 🎃👻

During a recent appearance on @BagFuel, Chris Gotti recalled a time when Jay-Z was so determined to get his music on the radio that he showed up to Def Jam with a bag full of cash. 💰

According to Chris, Irv Gotti once advised Jay to pull up to Def Jam’s office with the bag and speak with Kevin Liles, who was known at the time as one of the best promotion guys in the business.

When Jay arrived with the money, Liles turned it down and gave the bag back. Although Jay initially wanted to push a different song, Liles took a liking to “Ain’t No N—a” featuring Foxy Brown and said he’d put it on the soundtrack for the 1996 film “Nutty Professor,” giving the record an opportunity to reach a wider audience.

This story is another example of just how hungry Jay-Z was to make it as an artist in the earliest days of his career. 💯
