No volume limit 🔊

This is not my opinion but basic anatomy.

The fitness industry wants you to believe muscle is just solid protein and that eating protein builds muscle. This is a biological misunderstanding used to sell supplements.

A trained skeletal muscle is only 15 percent protein. Up to 5 percent is trace minerals and fat. The remaining 80 percent is a fluid sugar matrix.

Carbohydrates dictate your actual size, firmness, and explosive power. When you eat carbs they are stored inside the tissue as glycogen. Every 1 gram of stored glycogen chemically binds to 3 grams of water.

This sugar water is what physically inflates the tissue. It provides the visible volume of the flesh.

For example if you gain 10 kilograms of muscle you are only gaining 1.5 kilograms of actual protein. You are gaining 8.5 kilograms of liquid fuel. Carbohydrates and water are what actually fill the tissue.
