The defense laid out the fall, the soiled undergarments, the missed physical therapy, the wheelchair transfers he can’t do alone, and Tipton denied it anyway. The counterweight is the government’s case: the firearm charge creates a legal presumption of detention, and prosecutors leaned hard on those Instagram photos — including the one with the gun near a small child — plus his criminal history and the Never Broke Again ties. In the judge’s math, that outweighed the medical hardship. The practical reality is the government asked for him to be held at a Houston medical facility, not a regular jail — so the argument is that his care needs get met inside custody, just not at Joe Corley. Whether that actually happens is another question.
