Creativity can help us process and cope with difficult events like the recent flooding in Indiana.
Thousands were affected, including many in Franklin County. Earlier this year I received a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission to present a series of creativity workshops with Franklin County nonprofit, Stayin Alive. We're calling them "Creativity Can Save Your Life: Practical Art Tools for Mental Health and Resilience.”
We start Sept 19th in Brookville with an event aimed at helping parents understand the impact of crisis events like the recent flooding and mental health challenges on children and families. It will introduce simple and effective creative tools that can support processing, coping, and resilience at home. The workshop is free.
It's interesting timing, to say the least.
If you know a family in or around Franklin County, Indiana (Batesville, Brookville, Metamora, Connersville, Rushville), consider sending them this info!
