For a long time, I thought I let you down.

You had big dreams. You had that big ass smile on your face. You believed you could be anything, do anything, and become somebody you could be proud of.

And somewhere along the way, life got hard. I made mistakes. I lost myself. I wasted time. I made choices that you probably wouldn’t understand.

For a long time, I looked back at you and felt like I owed you an apology.

But the older I get, the more I realize… maybe I didn’t let you down after all.

Because that little kid had no idea what we were gonna have to overcome.

He didn’t know we’d fall. He didn’t know we’d have to start over. He didn’t know how many times we’d have to pick ourselves back up and keep going.

He just knew he had a dream. And somehow, through all the bullshit, I’m still chasing it. 🏃🏾‍♂️🏆

I’ve accomplished things that little kid never could’ve imagined. I’ve been places he never thought he’d go. I’ve become a man he probably would’ve looked up to.

I’m not where I want to be yet. And I’m nowhere near finished. But I’m proud of you, little man. Because you never really gave up on me🗣️🗣️

And I promise you… I’m not giving up on you either. 🖤
