What y’all think about Atlanta news reporting on dmv artist #ninopaid ‘s arrest for being accused of allegedly being involved with a m*rder & armed robbery?? “Nino, born Jacquawn Andrews, was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol while attempting to re-enter the United States from Canada on Sept. 1. He was held in the Wayne County Jail in Michigan before recently being extradited to Atlanta. He faces felony murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault charges. Warhol.SS, born Zahair Myles, turned himself in to police on Sept. 14 in connection with the murder. He has been charged with felony murder, criminal attempt to commit a felony, armed robbery and aggravated assault. The charges stem from an incident on April 25. Atlanta Police officers responded to a report of a person shot near Old Fourth Ward. Responding officers located a 29-year-old male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition. However, he later succumbed to his wounds. “Following a thorough investigation, investigators identified two suspects, Zahair Myles and Jacquawn Andrews, in connection with the incident,” the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement. Nino and Warhol remain in jail without bond. Nino has a bond hearing scheduled for today (Oct. 15).” - Via @xxl
Lesson 6 💌: You don’t have to change who you are or how you look to be taken seriously. Looking back, I don’t think it was the complaint itself that affected me most. It was what I took away from it. That perhaps if I dressed a little differently, wore less makeup, made less effort with my appearance, blended in a little more… people might take me more seriously. And I think we have all been there… Changed something about ourselves, not because we wanted to, but because we worried about how we might be perceived. Of course, there are professional standards, dress codes and safety considerations. I’ve spent my career in medicine, and I understand their importance. But there’s a difference between dressing appropriately for your job and feeling you have to dull your personality to be respected in it. At the time, I was a young medical student. I didn’t question it. I just put on scrubs and got on with my day. And perhaps that’s the bit I’d do differently now. Not necessarily the clothes, but the assumption that someone else’s judgement of my appearance must mean there was something wrong with it. As I raise my daughters, I want them to understand that feedback is important, but not every opinion requires them to change. You can be feminine, enjoy fashion, love makeup, wear pink shoes AND be intelligent, capable and professional. One doesn’t cancel out the other. And I wish my younger self had understood that a little sooner. Have you ever changed how you look or dress because you worried you wouldn’t be taken seriously?
As @tatemcrae’s fame grows, one can feel her asking herself: What becomes of all this? “I am constantly chasing the adrenaline of being onstage,” she says. “At the same time, I am also a sponge. I love learning, and then fixing myself.” Ahead of the release of her new single “Housewife,” the 23-year-old Canadian sensation opens up about her viral Lollapalooza performance, the supermodel who inspired her new fragrance, and the dance legends she considers true originals.
