The scent of dhunuchi, the rhythm of dhaak, and a city dressed in celebration. My favourite time of year, captured with my OPPO F35.

As you’re probably aware, Travis Kelce is currently in hot water after people spotted that he liked Shane Gillis’s controversial opening monologue from this past weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live on Instagram. If you somehow managed to miss the whole thing, Shane has been widely criticized for his misogynistic comments in the monologue, where he called women “whores” and bitches.

Considering the current climate amid the highly publicized Cornell University lawsuit, the whole thing left a bad taste in people’s mouths, with one viral tweet summing up the discourse with: “the normalization of casual misogyny like this directly contributes to rape culture. if you’re against what happened at cornell, you need to be against this too.”

Other celebrities came out against Shane’s monologue, too, including Dan Levy, whose impassioned Instagram post calling out Shane, SNL, and men as a whole ended up going viral. And this sentiment only made Travis’s response all the more disappointing, with eagle-eyed followers noting that both Travis and Cara Delevingne had liked SNL’s social media post of the monologue. tw: pregnancy loss 🦋

The most joyous 12 weeks of my life in an instant turned into the most devestating 24 hours of my life.

Right before leaving for a month to travel the world and celebrate love, Cecil and I found out we were expecting our first child! Our journey to parenthood has not been easy, so finding out we were finally pregnant felt so surreal

We spent the following weeks imagining our future, writing their names, buying their first souvenir toys, and falling more in love with someone we hadn’t even met yet. We got to see and hear our baby’s strong heartbeat and little movements and couldn’t wait for the life ahead.

At our 12 week appointment, the “safe” point when we thought we’d be one step closer to meeting our baby , we received the heartbreaking news that the pregnancy was no longer viable and within hours my miscarriage began , my water broke and I painfully and naturally delivered our baby at home

Nothing at all can prepare you for this kind of heartbreak. I feel forever changed and honestly superhuman from the physical experience but more importantly, I deeply miss the bond I’d already formed with our child.

As devastated as we both are, we’re so grateful we got to experience this kind of love, even if only for a little while. We hope they enjoyed the ride with us but are having the best time up above 🤍
