Rowan Bazley

Swan (2020) was the last picture I made before Scotland went into lockdown in early 2020. "weep" (2022) was the first painting I made in the studios at GSA (Stow College) after the long period without access. The later picture is a swan which has been mirrored on a horizontal and vertical axis, radiating warm colours and partially filled in with charcoal. The first picture is a film still which I used a grid transfer system to replicate on the canvas in indian ink.
