Children sleep so much because their brains and bodies are developing at an extraordinary rate. During sleep, the brain strengthens memories, processes new experiences, and develops important neural connections. Sleep also supports the release of growth hormone, tissue repair, and immune function. Babies may sleep 14–17 hours a day, while toddlers typically need 11–14 hours, including naps. As children grow older, their sleep requirements gradually decrease. Interestingly, young children spend a substantial amount of time in REM sleep, which is associated with brain development and memory processing. Their brains are constantly learning new sounds, movements, faces, and skills, making adequate sleep especially important. So when a baby spends most of the day sleeping, they’re not being lazy. Their brain is essentially running an enormous construction project while the rest of the body is offline. Like this content? Follow us for more @dadsaysjokes ❤️
A #behindthescenes look at my @rebellion_body @koko_king_photo #photoshoot retreat. So much credit goes to my coach for the last 3️⃣ years @fwbtraining … who works with me tackling mindset, boundaries, empowerment, breath work, macro nutrition, #bodybuilding form feedback, bio feedback... and SO MUCH MORE! ~~ For those who have been following my stories, you’ve seen a lot more of this recent retreat … this whole thing is less about “fitness” … it’s more #reinvention… and REBUILDING for my future health. It’s not as easy as sending you my arm workout. (We’ve done dozens of different workout blocks over the last 3 years!) ~Check out @rebellion_body & its different programs & follow the founder @fiftyfitnessjourney, to learn more about her #transformation and journey. 💪🏼🖤

At 25 I thought a good life had to be loud. Full weekends, a full calendar, everyone around all the time. At 36 it looks like this. Slow mornings with my coffee, a kitchen that smells like dinner, long walks through the city with nowhere to be, Lucas waiting at the door, and evenings so soft I never want them to end. I used to think this list was what you settle for. It turned out to be everything I ever wanted. 🤍 #livingalone #slowliving
