Which metrics should I focus on? 💭
It depends on your social media goals:
⏩ If you want brand awareness, look at non-follower growth, views and reach. You also want to monitor non-follower engagement on your top of funnel content.
⏩ If lead gen is your goal then I would focus on profile visits, link clicks, website bounce rates, GA4 traffic sources and Google Search Console. Also track DMs and comments where customers are enquiring about your product or service [as this can then lead to a website visit later on].
⏩ If client/customer retention is your goal, have a look at repeat commenters, DMs, shares and saves. Unfollow rates can also tell you if loyal customers are dropping off.
💡 TIP: This can happen if your messaging suddenly changes and your audience no longer feels aligned.
An example of this is when people follow an account for house reno inspiration, the creator has a baby and starts posting about mum life. Only people who are wanting to consume both of those types of content will stick around.
