First Friday is a beautiful reason to come downtown, slow down, and support the creative heart of Redmond.

Join us at Arome on October 2 from 5 to 8pm for the First Friday Art Walk featuring local artists Debra Roeder and Raymond Roeder. Stroll 6th Street, meet the artists, browse their work, and visit the downtown shops that help make our community feel vibrant, welcoming, and full of discovery.

While you are here, stop into Arome for fall kitchen inspiration, specialty oils and vinegars, seasonal spices, cookware, gifts, and a little local flavor to take home.

Come support local art, shop small, and enjoy an autumn evening downtown.

My doctor friend is addicted to hitting people on their knees to test their reflexes. He..really gets a kick out of it.

Knees are among the largest and most complex joints in the human body, connecting the thighbone, shinbone, and kneecap. They allow us to walk, run, jump, squat, and bend our legs while supporting much of our body weight. The kneecap, called the patella, protects the front of the joint and helps the thigh muscles straighten the leg more efficiently. Interestingly, babies are born with kneecaps made largely of cartilage, which gradually turns into bone as they grow.
Another surprising fact is that your knees don’t just bend and straighten; they also rotate slightly, especially when bent. Ligaments, cartilage, tendons, and muscles work together to keep the joint stable. Despite their impressive engineering, knees are particularly vulnerable to injuries because they regularly absorb enormous forces during movement. Evolution gave humans the ability to walk upright, but apparently decided that two complicated joints should handle most of the complaints.

Sometimes, the fastest way forward begins with slowing down. Follow Ollie Bearman as he embraces a different rhythm and makes time for what matters.

Why did he escape so fast? 🤣🤣 #socialexperiment #compliment #notestostrangers
