Jakarta’s provincial government allocated Rp876.7 billion from its 2025 budget to renovate 19 school buildings across the capital. Governor Pramono Anung stated that 16 buildings have been fully renovated, while work on the remaining three is still underway. The renovation program covers schools ranging from kindergartens to senior high schools and vocational schools across Jakarta’s five administrative areas. The initiative aims to provide students and educators with safer, more comfortable, and modern learning environments. The provincial government plans to continue renovating school buildings gradually, based on needs and development priorities. During renovations, classes are temporarily relocated to nearby facilities, such as local community offices, or conducted online. 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🤍🤍🤍 [via: Threads]
Nas is speaking out about the music industry’s treatment of Black artists, accusing the business of exploiting its pioneers while failing to properly recognize their contributions. In an Instagram statement, the legendary rapper reflected on Black music’s history as he continues working on new material. He specifically referenced blues pioneer Robert Johnson, writing, “I think about Robert Johnson at the crossroads, how he changed music, and how we can’t even find his grave.” Nas argued that the same lack of appreciation continues today. “The music game forgets or doesn’t compensate the foundation. Our greats have been stolen from and ripped off of.” The Queens rapper also criticized the industry’s obsession with trends, encouraging artists to focus on cultural impact rather than temporary popularity. “We can’t keep creating music for the sake of a “trend”.” He questioned the lack of unity among artists and industry leaders, suggesting that celebrating Black musical contributions should take priority over chasing commercial success. “We gotta take a stand as one. It’s time for a celebration of the music.” Nas concluded with a powerful message about identity and cultural awareness. “No Knowledge of self is certain death! It’s time to address it.” He signed the statement “Nasir Jones” and “BLAK MUSIC 2026.”
