Weβre incredibly excited to announce our debut feature film VERCKYS has been selected for @film_london Production Finance Market (PFM) π½οΈπ₯
A romantic musical biopic set in DR Congo, VERCKYS tells the extraordinary story of Georges βVerckysβ Kiamuangana Mateta - musician, innovator and one of the pioneers who helped shape the sound of modern African music - alongside the love story that changed his life.
For us, as British-Congolese filmmakers, this is more than a film about music. Itβs about love, ambition, identity and ownership - and reclaiming a piece of Congolese history that deserves to be seen on the world stage π¨π©π¬π§
We canβt wait to bring Kinshasa, its music and this incredible story to life πΏπΎ
Writer/Producer @misssychelle
Director @kiosasukami
Big thank you to @filmtvcharity for the support ππΎ
Next stop: PFM! π¬
