I would daydream of a holiday family house like in Home Alone.
“That’s happiness,” I would think.
As I got better at design-AKA translating the feeling I had inside to an actual room, I also grew as a person and mother.
I placed a lot of importance on how my environment around me looked-and I still do.
But as I grew more comfortable in my home, my nervous system felt safe in the environment I created, I found myself feeling safer to take time to deeply connect to my family and see gratitude in the everyday things.
Do you ever see a happy and think, “Oh they are happy because they are wealthy etc.”
The truth is that they are happy because their inner world is at peace. Their relationships feel good. They are open to receive.
Everyone can have that.
That’s what I feel. I’m always working on deepening the gratitude and I often forget or get lost but I keep going back.
Having a sweet home to make cozy and fun for the holidays gives me that feeling of safety.
