a few seconds agoThank you for this. You brought up so many good points that no one else is saying.
a few seconds agoThank you Dylan this was well spoken. Much calmer and well out than much of us are able to put it at this moment but every detail that needs to be said.
2 minutes agoThe thing that is the most salient that you have said is we have not engaged in the conversation about how to intervene Perhaps it might've been too scary To those boys to walk upstairs intervene, pathetic as that might , but they could've called the police and then they didn't have to be the person who walked upstairs. They could've seen that Snapchat and immediately called the police. Or they could've called one of their parents and said I'm in a situation I don't know what to do There were a million ways they That is a conversation we all need to be having with the men and boys in our lives
3 minutes agoThe first question when I was date raped from a friend in the 1980βs was what did I do? Thatβs why women donβt report assault.
3 minutes agoThe whole situation is horrific and enraging...and for me, the worst part is the systemic rot that quietly supports the culture. Sadly, this type of thing happens in corporate environments, in government...it's everywhere. If only people were raised to "do the right thing, even if no one is looking." π₯Ή
4 minutes agoProbably because if you screenshot Snapchat everyone on the chat will see that you did it
5 minutes agoThey are just as complicit as the very first person who offered and made her take ketamine and proceeded to sexually assault her. It is horrific to me that there were that many and probably more if we add on the people that also saw the Snapchat over one or more persons shoulder and said oh my god dude isn't that cool that's crazy. I raised two sons and a daughter who are, by the grace of God, out of college working jobs and perfectly healthy physically and mentally. Every day I am shocked although I shouldn't be by the level to which these kids have fallen. I don't even have the words for it to be honest with you, it is barbaric and horrific. It takes me back to that Meg Ryan movie where she was raped in a pool house and all of the men stood around watching and cheering and egging the rapist on and there were multiple people that assaulted her and I can't think of the name of the movie but I believe it was based on a true story and I remember in a testimony she was questioned extensively about the outfit she had on and how much she had to drink and why she might have played pool with them and why she was at the bar by herself, in essence blaming it all on her just makes me so so sad to realize we have not come very far at all in 20 years 30 years because that movie was back in the 90s. Women we have got to do better raising our sons and man we have got to do better and protecting other women.π’π’π’
7 minutes agoBeing witnesses instead of interveners πππ itβs good men like you!!!! This this this!
