Wow, what an eventful week! We returned from our Wisconsin pop-up to find out we had been nominated for a @thebanchetawards for Pastry Program of the Year. Truly shocked!
Since the very beginning, I have tried to keep Sugar Moon running as a small operation with an organic, neighborhood following. I believe our success is a direct result of the hard work of our amazing team and community of loyal customers cheering us on. Awards or recognition were never the goal, but I’m extremely proud of our entire team and I am happy to see them get noticed for all of their hard work. I really do think our shop is so special.
Our goal was never to make award winning pastries, it was to make what might be your favorite pastries. We never wanted to take ourselves too seriously, we just wanted to focus on making good, comforting food. That said, it is an honor to be nominated!
Thank you to our community for the continued support! So many of you have been with us since day one and you’ve really helped shape this place as much as our growing team has.

Congrats! I was in Chicago for the first time this weekend and had the privilege to be shown your shop as a hidden gem. You deserve that award, I cannot stop thinking about the banana pudding croissant 😍🔥 absolutely amazing work and the line being out the door says so much about your food! Keep it up! 👏

Well deserved nomination! Only wish you were closer. NOBODY does savory like you do. And the frequent change up in selection (always a surprise) unlike others who just keep making the same few is phenomenal. Can we vote?????
