My parents are both residential school survivors. My mom went to Saint Mary’s in Mission British Columbia and my dad went to Blue Quills in Saint Paul Alberta I am forever grateful that despite being products of those schools My parents raised us deeply rooted in culture in community and instilled pride in who we are and background. I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for them ….my love for singing my passion for language and culture roots from them and their resilience and strength.. our family has and continues to collectively do the work breaking cycles and intergenerational trauma cycles …. I love both of them and I’m proud of both of them.🧡🧡
