We are excited to introduce Dr. Julia Temple Newhook as a new adjunct professor in the department!

"I am a sociologist of health, and my research program focuses on the health and well-being of trans, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse children, youth, and their families. I am interested in collaborative, participatory action research, and I have expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods. My most recent research study is with a national team exploring the advocacy experiences of parents of trans youth across Canada. Our next project will include creative arts-based methodologies focused on parent and youth advocates in Indigenous, racialized, and rural and isolated communities."
