The best mulch for your flower beds is pine straw.

It is easy to install, prevents weeds, retains moisture, and looks great!!!

👉Would you apply this at your home?

Crazy part is ALL the new homes built here in South Carolina they put pine straw and about 95% owners it’s the first thing to be removed myself included. But i just did it because someone told me too. Never really asked why. Now i have black mulch that doesnt block weeds well. Starting to second guess stuff

Pine straw is nice when you first put it down, but the sun bleaches it pretty quick, and it doesn’t look very golden after just a short amount of time. I’m not a fan

Not sure it's worth it. I see a lot of cons to this. Fire hazard, constant sweeping/blowing back in place. Place for rodents or pests to make a home, once it starts to break down it will look bad (if it doesn't already). Very little to no upside to this.

Fire ants love to build hidden mounds in pine straw.

I would like to see it from the street. Does it have curb appeal?
