TVK chief Vijay said the party’s victories in Madurantakam and Dharapuram were not merely electoral wins but also a rebuke to personal attacks, derogatory remarks about women and what he described as the betrayal of honest leaders and party cadres.

“I reiterate: this victory belongs neither to me, Vijay, as an individual, nor solely to the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam,” he said, adding that the results represented a victory for political decency and personal civility.

Vijay thanked voters in both constituencies and congratulated TVK candidates Maragatham Kumaravel and Sathyabhama on their victories.

Tamil Nadu By-election result: Vijay says TVK’s bypoll wins shatter ‘money-ocracy’, thanks voters
TVK chief Vijay thanked voters in Madurantakam and Dharapuram after the party’s victories in the Tamil Nadu bypolls, claiming the results demonstrated people’s desire for a democracy guided by conscience.

In a statement, Vijay said TVK had won without paying for votes or relying on money power, describing the victories as a rejection of the “money-ocracy” he alleged had dominated Tamil Nadu’s electoral politics.

He also took aim at the DMK, calling it an “evil force” and asking critics to consider what might have happened had the party allowed TVK to campaign across Tamil Nadu during the Assembly elections.
