The effects of wrongful conviction continue long after folks return home. Survey respondents who spent an average of 20 years wrongfully incarcerated and have been home for an average of 13 years self-report that they are still feeling the mental health, health, and financial consequences of wrongful incarceration today. #WrongfulConvictionDay

I would be interested to see what the results were for people incarcerated without a wrongful conviction. Prisons cause so much damage and trauma.

Don’t promise services to Exonerees and then not provide them, as Maryland did me in 1987 and no administration ever addressed my concerns.
