NDNartober

Welcome to Day 1 of NDNArtober! Today’s theme is tattoo! We welcome all indigenous folks to take part in this challenge. The prompts are open ended and the fun is to see how folks interpret them from their personal, regional, tribal, and clan perspectives and styles. While this challenge has the option of 31 prompts, we encourage folks to check out the caption of the #ndnartober2026 prompt list to see various ways you can approach this challenge to make it fun and sustainable for you. There is no way to “fail” the ndnartober challenge - except using AI. Each day we feature the creative works folks make for the daily prompts. Since the theme changes daily, folks have till 11:59pm cst if they’d like their work featured in our stories. This year we will also do our best to repost as well. Additionally, strong encouragement to tag us directly on the piece. When you’re uploading your piece, click the button to tag people and tag @ndnartober. Our three facilitators will be able to see it even if a ton of notifications pop up that would other wise bury it cuz it’ll show up in the tagged section of our profile. Your piece being there also makes it easier to find and feature on our main feed the next morning and into the future when we feature works of the past. We want to encourage everyone make work - no matter how frequently or how simple or complex. We’re always excited to see it! Also be sure to follow and comment and share other folks work! This is a great time to support one another, find new favorite art & artists, make friends, and along the way show the world and each other who we are. Thank you to everyone participating or plans to participate- and those of you too who are following along and supporting the artists and creatives even if you yourself isn’t creating! #ndnartober #octoberartchallenge
