I spent the last few days in Nottingham for a hub exchange residency, put together by @cchubcreative and @britishcouncil . I was hosted by @new_art_exchange , one of the UK’s prominent champions of contemporary arts.

They were kind enough to share their vast experience in developing hub programming, creating opportunities for creative people, and raising funds with the goal of reaching self-sustainability.

They also exposed me to a wide range of non-profit institutions in film, performing arts, visual arts, etc. that are equally committed to unlocking the potential of creative people whilst building community in the process.

Thanks to @kylelfuters, @saadeddinesaid , and Adam Roe for being such great hosts. You all made this city home.

My biggest takeaway from this residency is that while our problems are unique to our different communities, the thinking around solving them isn’t.

It gets a lot easier to build local solutions when we understand how successful institutions think about the same problems, without necessarily copying their outputs.
