“I don’t want to make a hero of myself, all I want is for you to be my voice”

Reports suggest that a 23-year-old woman in Iran named Najmeh Amini has been sentenced to death for blasphemy over comments made on social media.⁣
⁣
In this audio, attributed to Najmeh speaking from prison and released in September, she is heard calling for international groups to investigate her case.
⁣
The UN human rights chief Volker Türk said in August that he was alarmed by the rise in executions in Iran, with capital punishment continuing to be used “to instil fear among the population and suppress dissent”.⁣
⁣
Iran is thought to be the world’s second-most prolific executioner after China. Last year, it put to death at least 2,159 people, according to Amnesty International.⁣

For real😭

Is Your Ego Stopping You from Enjoying Life?

I’ve often noticed how ego can quietly take us away from the moment. We start measuring respect, recognition and who knows whom instead of simply enjoying where we are. 🌿

We may start wondering where we are seated, who has acknowledged us and whom we should speak to. Instead of enjoying the moment, we measure the experience by how much recognition we receive.

Respect and recognition matter, but they are not the measure of our entire life. Buddhist thought reminds us that status and prestige are temporary. I believe we experience life more fully when we hold ourselves lightly.

A little humility helps us stay lighter and more present. What do you think? ✨
