Listen to the sound 🎧🔊 volume 10/10
I have a walk for when a session falls apart. Out the door, no destination, one track on repeat until my chest stops rattling. I've done that walk in three cities. Same track, different pavement.
Music never asked me what happened. It never asked whether I'd slept or whether the eleven hours I put into one kick drum would amount to anything. It showed up, took the weight for four minutes, and handed it back lighter.
That's why I wear the helmet. My face would sit between you and the track, and I want those four minutes clean. You don't need to know what I look like.
You need the thing I made to hold when you're walking home at 2am with your jaw locked. Most of what I write starts in that state. Someone said the wrong thing at work. Someone left your message on read for two days. The kind of bad that doesn't earn sympathy because you can't explain it without sounding dramatic. So I stop explaining and open the DAW. You have a track that does this.
You thought of it before you finished the first line. It isn't the best song ever made and that changes nothing, because one night it stood between you and something worse. Send this to the person who put you onto it.
They won't expect it, and they'll know why.
