Varsha Patra

2003. Young Varsha in engineering school aspired to act. A photographer saw me in Manipal and coerced me to audition for a Kannada film. Was too afraid beyond this picture. I struggle seeing myself on camera and continue to this day (ruined my best friend’s wedding pictures).

I also love telling people the story that i was the prolific director Nag Ashwin’s first actor in his college film project - my claim to acting fame. Horror film if my memory serves me right ..good casting.

Location: Manipal photo studio to audition for then South Indian film. Not in my wildest dreams did i imagine myself to direct or produce films. Over 20 years and life never ceases to surprise you.
