The photographer ditched me at the last moment… and honestly, I thought this shoot was over before it even began. 💔
But what happened next is what made these pictures so special.
For the longest time, I had this vision in my head—
A white saree.
Temple jewellery.
That timeless South Indian grace.
And my dusky skin glowing through it all. 🪷
I wanted every little detail to be just right. So I searched the markets for the perfect saree, sourced my jewellery all the way from Hyderabad, and then came the morning of the shoot.
3 AM......While the world was sleeping, I was up getting ready and doing my makeup. My mom was right there helping me drape the saree, fix my jewellery and bring every little detail together.
Kavita Aunty,(
@tanus_salon ) one of my mom’s closest friends, woke up early just to do my hair. 🤍
Finally, at 6:30 AM, I reached the location.
And then came the unexpected twist—the photographer I had planned everything with had ditched me at the very last moment.
I was fully ready, with a vision I had spent so much time creating… and suddenly, no one to capture it.
For a moment, I genuinely didn't know what to do.
Then I remembered someone whose work I had always loved.
@portraits_by_kodacrome Akash ....One call. He came.
And somehow, what felt like everything falling apart became the moment everything started falling into place. ✨
Raahi, my dearest friend, thank you for quietly helping make this vision even more beautiful. 🤍
Looking at these pictures now, I realise this was never just my look. It was my mom, Kavita Aunty, Raahi, and everyone who gave their time, effort and love to turn something that existed only in my imagination into something real.
Some dreams may have your name on them, but they’re built by many hands, many early mornings, unexpected turns and a whole lot of love. 🪷
And that's why this shoot will always be a little more special to me.
It’s not just a set of pictures. It’s a vision I finally got to see come alive. 🤍
Now tell me… which picture made you stop scrolling — 1 to 9? 👀👇🏽
