It was a joy to go to Togo! 🇹🇬 Country #48 was fully of nature, vibrancy, and color and I loved being able to see Brianna in her element!

It also was a very difficult trip, all my valuables were stolen from my locked hotel room while I was sleeping… before I went to Ethiopia for a conference. I navigated it well in spite of the huge barriers with no technology. Here are tips to always stay vigilant so this never happens to you.
1. Lock, deadbolt, AND put something heavy (like a chair or furniture) in front of your door.
2. Ensure you have key phone numbers and emails of your network memorized or written down.
3. Print all visas, hotel confirmations, and flights and prebook all shuttles or taxis if possible.
4. Breathe. It was one of the scariest moments of my life, waking up to my door closing of my hotel and seeing all my things gone. Breathe.
5. Have a network of trusted people aware of your travels abroad.

Ben!! Omg - this is awful! I’m so sorry. Cheers on breathing and getting through it, and I’m glad *you* are ok and weren’t hurt. Also, brilliant list - just saved it.
