Schools can only have so much holiday, they can't just pop an extra week in to inconvenience you 😂 check the school website. Oh and schools aren't child care!

I understand the "school is not childcare" take. But get real. We have to work, and it costs us a fortune to pay for care during the school holidays. Most of us get nothing like the amount of leave we would need to cover school holidays, even if we were allowed to take 5/6 consecutive weeks in the summer! Some of us don't have a village. So no, school isn't childcare per se, but not having school causes a childcare problem.

Swear to god, this is a prime example of how the 90s/00s education system failed the UK... and I dont mean the rage bait. I mean the fact you have to post this shit to feel anything, when the views and likes roll in.

October and easter/april are the holiday that are linked. If you have 2 week off in october you get 1 week at easter - generally this is the religious schools who still attend for holy week. Or you have 1 week at october and 2 in april/easter.

So…I’ve emailed the school and my school only operates for 185 days a year. Because it’s a trust they have more flexibility over the timetable.
