A visit to MAP Bangalore. Sharing a few images which make the memories; learning, sharing, path taken together, laughter, thoughts and many more. A day lived and lived well… so many childhood memories with chacha choudhary and saboo; always wanting to buy and read; indrajaal comics; and remembered kapeesh, Nandan, Parag, Amar Chitra katha, panchtantra and newspaper cartoon series, waiting for the next day and next one always. To save money, my parents had a deal with the book stall at the railway station and I used to borrow for a day and return it in the same condition so then we didn’t have to pay anything. Now when I look back, I have such gratitude for the stall owner, he has been instrumental in developing my reading habits and yes I forgot Champak in my list. My parents wanted me to learn English so it started with Champak’s English version. I was quite unhappy but as per the stall owner it was non negotiable, Champak for a week and rest of the comics for a day. Papa bought first Pride and prejudice from him for me and he was beaming with pride that I reached the stage of reading novels. In today’s times, I would have taken selfie with him. This exhibition reminded me the distance travelled from Katihar railway station to today and so many people just helped me to reach that next point by themselves staying there. This exhibition brought everyone in front of me… and I was overwhelmed and still am. I found the entire exhibition also very humbling, so many people who have built up childhood, adulthood and current middle age years as times to live by, have fun and in tough times building endurance. Do visit and take your own memories from it. First photo is courtesy @sunscar_8055 . The experience was made richer by the presence of AD 3 batch as they gave me the purpose of visit in the first place. #niftbangalore #designfaculty #mapbangalore #accessorydesign #indiancomics
