As a former non-tenured (now retired) professor—stay strong! It’s an abomination that universities STILL don’t understand that the faculty is the backbone of any institution. We not only teach, but advise students, create new curriculum, and majors that universities profit from. It’s pathetic that “negotiations” have to take place in order to wake-up the administration to realize this.

The issue is all the money that students pay does not even go to the faculty or its own betterment. It’s funneled into sports, PR or pockets. Lol I mean you see the state of some buildings in NB? There’s all sorts of mold and cockroaches in a few. But that’s not the janitors fault, they assign like 1-2 guys for the whole building from like 9am to 9pm before the night shift then comes. And some buildings are HUGE. PLUS 85% of these buildings needs renovations for leaks, cracks, gaps, ect! So if the money doesn’t even go to keeping ITSELF afloat, you think it would ever go to faculty pay or benefits? LOL we need STRONG change in leadership NOT easily corrupted individuals.
