URA LISTEN UP!👂 We’ve laid it all out on the table. Management is due to respond to our economics (raises) proposal next week. But before we go any further you should know our core bargaining demands we’re fighting for in winning a #StrongContractNow

🩺 Health coverage on Day 1 not Day 60 (like faculty get)
💻 Fair Flex Work that’s real and accessible for all members
👶 Paid parental leave. Not relying on sick time and unpaid FMLA
💼 A professional development fund (like faculty get)
🎓Expanded tuition remission benefits for spouse, online, and non-RU courses like so many other NJ colleges have
❄️Closing the University in States of Emergency (granting our essential workers the overtime pay they always used to get before COVID)
📚Protections from overwork by improving reclassification, in-range/grade salary adjustment, and acting appointment processes
🗣️Interviews and real consideration for jobs for laid off workers
📋Clearer steps for progressive discipline
🤖 & protections from AI, electronic monitoring and surveillance and biometric data collection like facial recognition

We’re tired of the same old excuses about how our workforce is secondary to margins. Our working conditions are students’ learning conditions. #1u by @ura_aft

The level of disrespect for our work at this university was felt especially today as management cancelled our afternoon negotiations session after a room mixup where another party double booked the room we were in. We moved to another room but apparently that wasn’t enough for management and they’re done for the day. We’re not done working for a better contract for our members and their families. #Rutgers by @ura_aft

Our members should not have to call the Governor’s office to get the entitlements (like FLI) we pay into and deserve. Hear from Jacqueline Dunn from Camden, on why it’s critical we reach out to our union siblings when crisis arrives. This is why we’re negotiating for a reformed process for handling leave requests. #JoinYourUnion #1u by @ura_aft

Rest in power Dolores Huerta by @ura_aft

We know we’re preaching to the choir. But it’s still worth pointing out just how much #Rutgers chooses to prioritize athletics and executive compensation over the workers who bring value and make the institution run. Should Rutgers prioritize workers ofer athletics? by @ura_aft

🎃 Management is spooked when unions come together! Join us this Thursday at 125 Paterson St. New Brunswick for a costume drop-in! Free food, photo booth, crafts, union updates and good vibes! 👻 by @ura_aft

Month after month we stand with the detained at Delaney Hall. #FreeThemAll by @ura_aft

We’re not even going to dignify what happened in NJ.com with a response right just yet. Check your emails for more on that. Here’s what happened in actual bargaining this week. #Rutgers #RutgersUniversity #1u #StrongContractNow by @ura_aft

Join unions and community members as we honor families separated by ICE. We stand in solidarity with the detained inside Delaney Hall.

We’re fighting to expand tuition remission benefits like so many other NJ colleges and universities do! Why not Rutgers? Would your spouse enroll in a degree program if we had this benefit? #StrongContractNow by @ura_aft
