solo vanlife w/ a cat BUT we heard coyotes + a few things I do everytime atlas goes outside👇🏻 First and foremost, yall KNOW I do everything in my power to keep atlas safe. But the man would be so depressed if I keep him inside all day, so yes, I let him out (when it feels safe). But beforehand this is what I do: - Run around the area to spook anything - If there's dogs in the caravan, then have them come with me - Then let atlas out WITH me SUPERVISED - One thing I do before I let him out is NOT FEED HIM… because then he stays close to the van and doesn’t wander off - I always have a Tractive GPS collar on him at all times - & then every 15 minutes or so, I check on him - IF there's coyotes in the area, I DON’T LET HIM OUT. This was about 8 hours after I heard them and mid day + we had dogs, so I felt comfy going outside with him. WHY don't I have a leash/harness on him… he HATES it and it would make him run/move slower if anything did happen. This is just for him. Otto, my other cat, LOVED a harness and leash and moved the same in it. & then there's places I NEVER let him out in: - Tahoe - Arizona Obviously I am nervous everytime he goes outside, but he LOVES it, so this is everything I do to help.
