Ballarat Potters 2026 continues this weekend. One fabulous potter in the show worth knowing about is…Debbie Hill.

My works – Chaotic Destiny, Cosmos and Divine Chi - were inspired by the research that I was undertaking prior to my residency in Jingdezhen, China.

All the works incorporate elements of mythology and ritual. Each work has components from forms that I had photographed while travelling and the subsequent research I undertook to explore how I could incorporate this information into a sculptural format.

Each is also looking at the minutiae in the environment, the forms and patterns we tend not to notice in everyday life, but which offer so much. All works are hand built Porcelain with some also having midfired black clay additions.
