Gen Z may have lost trust in Godi media, but the public’s faith in TV news began to crumble a long time ago. We covered the Shaheen Bagh protests in the winter of 2019–20, when protesters had made a conscious decision to disengage from sections of the media that routinely branded them the “tukde tukde gang” and questioned their patriotism. The consequences of this vilification went far beyond television studios. The protests were followed by the Delhi riots, arrests and terror cases, including that of Umar Khalid, who remains behind bars facing UAPA charges. Media hounding has real-world consequences. The hostility towards TV news we’re witnessing on the streets in 2026 has a history. The playbook is familiar, and so is the distrust it has created.

RED VELVET CAKE for JM day 2026.10.13 Did you know red velvet cake wasn't always the bright, vibrant cake we know today? ❤️ 🇺🇸 America — 1800s onwards “Velvet” cakes were actually named for their soft and fine texture. The combination of ocoa, buttermilk and vinegar helped give early versions their distinctive flavour and reddish-brown hue. 🎨 The vibrant colour The iconic look took off in the 1930s–40s, when food colouring companies began promoting red velvet recipes. That's a little marketing magic! 🏨 Urban legend The Waldorf-Astoria in New York is often linked to the cake. Legend has it that a guest was charged a fortune for its recipe and shared it out of revenge. Fun story, but unproven~ 🌎 Today It's not just chocolate cake with food colouring! It's actually a combo of mild cocoa, a soft crumb, a slight tang and that dreamy cream cheese frosting. ❤️🤍 So, are you team red velvet or team chocolate cake? 👀🍰 I'm definitely team chocolate, but red velvet is a nice change once in a while!
