In their first-ever safari off Sesame Street, Elmo and friends travelled all the way to Nairobi to meet Elmo’s adopted elephant and the rest of our Nursery herd. SESAME STREET AND THE GREAT ELEPHANT ADVENTURE premieres tonight, 14 October, at 8/7c on PBS. @sesamestreet first aired in 1969, just a few years before the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was established. For more than five decades, the beloved television series has been a guiding light for generations, all from one familiar street. It was an honour to host Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Nina on their once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa. We hope you enjoy watching the episode as much as we enjoyed creating it. (And no one loved it more than the elephants — they were absolutely enchanted by their new Muppet friends!) 3.5 YEARS LATER… I FINALLY PRESSED SUBMIT! 🤩 And just like that, one of the biggest chapters of my life is coming to an end. 3.5 years of research, countless late nights, endless revisions, a LOT of coffee, moments of discovery, exciting milestones, valuable lessons, and memories that will last a lifetime. All leading up to this one little click. I have imagined this moment so many times, but now that it’s actually here, I don’t know whether to laugh, cry, celebrate or question what I’m supposed to do with my life now. 🤣 A PhD has a funny way of making you feel incredibly smart one day and questioning your entire existence the next. But somewhere between the research, publications, teaching, conferences and occasional existential crises, I grew. Not just as a researcher, but as a person. And while I’m proud of the thesis I’ve produced, I’m even prouder of the person I’ve become along the way. To my supervisors, Professors Rakesh Gupta, Selva Selvanathan, Saroja Selvanathan and Tarlok Singh, thank you for challenging me, guiding me and helping me become a better researcher. To Griffith Business School, Griffith Graduate Research School, my colleagues, students, friends and family, thank you for being part of this journey. I wouldn’t have done it without you all ❤️ And to everyone who has asked me, “So, when are you finishing your PhD?” WELL, HERE’S YOUR ANSWER! 🤣 To the younger version of myself who decided to pursue a PhD in Finance, not knowing what the next few years would hold...
