Her specially trained alert dog accompanies her to school and can help detect gluten, giving her another layer of protection around meals and food. Because he attends school alongside her every day, he became a familiar part of campus life rather than simply a pet waiting at home. When yearbook time arrived, the school included him too, giving the service dog his own place among the students he had spent the year around. The resulting yearbook photo quickly drew attention online, with people appreciating that the dog was recognized as part of her everyday school experience.

For students who rely on service animals, moments like this also show how closely these dogs can become woven into ordinary routines, from walking through school hallways to sitting through classes and helping their handlers navigate health related risks.

SPORTS | They’re back! Haiti’s national team has reunited in Kingston, Jamaica, as Les Grenadiers prepare to open their 2026–27 Concacaf Nations League campaign.

Haiti will face Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, Sept. 24 at Sabina Park before returning to the same venue Sunday, Sept. 27 to face Costa Rica. The Grenadiers will then travel to face the Dominican Republic on Oct. 1 and Costa Rica on Oct. 4.

The campaign also marks David Badía’s first official matches in charge of Haiti and begins the country’s path through a competition that serves as qualification for the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup •
