Ahead of Lake Como Design Festival 2026, ICON speaks with chief coordinator Francesca Prandelli and Contemporary Design Selection curator Giovanna Massoni about this year’s theme, Border.
Set within the historic Villa Saporiti, the exhibition brings together designers from around 30 countries, exploring the boundaries between craft and industry, tradition and experimentation, materials and communities.
We discuss why design shouldn’t simply solve problems, how the villa itself becomes part of the exhibition, and where to experience the real Como beyond the festival. 🙌
